CLOSER

Portraits of People Without Masks

Closer to truth. Closer to you.

How close will a modern human allow someone to come?
And what unfolds when they do?

When you let me in, I don’t just take a beautiful picture. I witness you, without the everyday masks or social roles.

Alive, feeling, vulnerable, true.

Living portraits, not poses.

These images happen only when you let me past the armor, so I can see not just a face, but a living character.

We live online. What we crave is the real thing, honesty, intimacy, trust, connection. I admire those who choose to be real, who choose presence over perfection, who allow themselves to be seen.

My photo project CLOSER is dedicated to real people - a species on the verge of extinction. I’m exploring the desire for intimacy and the fear of it that exists in our world, one by one.

What this is

CLOSER, by multi-award-winning photographer Nata Sokolovska. Not a shoot, a dialogue. We talk about life, love, vulnerability, desire, and the images arrive from that space. You set the topic.

Who I’m inviting

Real people of any age, background, profession, or gender identity.

Not models. Humans.

If words like presence, honesty, intimacy matter to you, you’re my person.
